Two handmade "beads" in recycled 18k gold, float on an oxidized and polished silver chain. I melted the gold into ingots and then forged them into these flat disc like beads with my favorite 3lb jewelers hammer, shaped them with files and sandpaper and intention, and gave them a soft ancient inspired texture.
I made them with weight, texture and movement in mind, I love the varying shapes, and how they move along the chain together, laying in different positions. The weight of this piece is satisfying, you can really feel it around your neck, and what is it about fiddling with the beads along the chain that is so satisfying?
I love how basic this idea is, it just a bead with a hole, or two beads in this case, but the proportions, weight, angles, curves, textures, and movement all make it something totally unique. Another example of my love for simple things being so much more than the sum of their parts.
This piece is made to order, please allow 2-3 weeks for production before this necklace ships out to you.
